I made a huge discovery today about my fabulous 89-year old Tia Jueventina; she’s been using the same cookbook for over 60 years. Tía is one of the biggest influencers of my cooking, second only to my mother. I didn’t even know she owned a cookbook until today. I always thought that all of her recipes originated from our family. Tía’s recipes are innovative, delicious and slightly different than my other relatives and now I understand why. This supports my strong belief that we all need inspiration for our cooking, even our masters like my Tía.
